Dr. Mary Tyszkiewicz

Mary Tyszkiewicz, Ph.D. brings the Heroic Improvisation Cycle and Fluid Leadership to anyone, anywhere, who wants to be prepared for the unimaginable and innovate with others in an instant.
The Heroic Improvisation Cycle and Fluid Leadership was discovered through by Dr. Tyszkiewicz’s 20 years of experience as a policy analyst for top leaders in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Congress, U.S. Department of Defense, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Dr. Tyszkiewicz worked at FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. during Hurricane Sandy in 2012-13.
Dr. Tyszkiewicz discovered from FEMA Corps members that the desire to help and the ability to connect with others on a team generated innovation to benefit survivors in an instant. She documented many ways the FEMA Corps found solutions quickly to help survivors during Hurricane Sandy.
Inspired by how the desire to help generates innovation, Dr. Tyszkiewicz is now devoted full time to bring the Heroic Improvisation Workshop and Fluid Leadership to as many communities as possible. In collaboration with improvisation experts -- Topher Bellavia (U.S.), Brad Fortier (U.S.) and Gabe Mercado (Philippines) -- she has brought the 3-hour Heroic Improvisation Workshop and Fluid Leadership to diverse groups of people like airline staff, conference center staff, disaster volunteers, disaster survivors, emergency responders, indigenous tribes, refugees and school staff in the US and Philippines.
